Considering Renting a Motor Home?

There are a number of people getting interested in RV’ing these days.  What a better way to get your “feet wet” than by renting a motor home.

Here are a few important things to consider when renting a motor home:

  1. Length: What do you feel comfortable driving? Where do you plan on going? The size is important if you plan on hitting the open road doing a considerable amount of driving or if you plan on staying in a destination for long periods of time.  If you plan on going to national or state parks, size is a factor for the RV sites and roads they maintain.
  2. Floor plan: Being comfortable with the interior layout of the motor home is important.  You want to make sure you have  the proper seating and beds to accommodate you and your family. Choosing the proper floor plan that will allow you to “live” with your group so you can enjoy your adventures.
  3. Features: What kind of camping are you going to do more of? If you plan on staying in an area without power or water, you need to find something that will be able to generate its own power and have large water storage.  If you plan on having all of the amenities when you camp (power, water, sewer hook-ups, cable etc.) then you want an RV that has those capabilities.  Renting will help you decide what’s on your ‘must have’ and ‘don’t need’ lists.
  4. Style: Motor homes have three different classifications - A, B or C.

Renting a motor home is one of the best ways to see our wonderful country.  If you see a location or landmark that you like, you can pull over and spend time at your leisure investigating your new find.  If you find a nice quiet park or scenic overlook, you can have lunch with a view.  Enjoy it, you are on vacation!
